MY NEIGHBOR’S LITTLE SON CAME TO SWIM IN OUR POOL

A Life Lesson from Dylan
One ordinary Saturday, my neighbor’s son, Dylan, asked to swim in my pool. When he removed his shirt, I was stunned to see a large scar on his back. Concerned but careful, I asked him about it.
Dylan explained he had scoliosis surgery the previous year—a tough experience that left him scared but ultimately stronger. Despite everything, he was full of joy, embracing life with resilience.
Talking to him and his mother later, I realized how much he had endured. Yet, he never let his challenges define him. His story taught me that everyone carries unseen battles, and a little kindness can go a long way.
Dylan’s strength was a reminder to look beyond the surface, appreciate small moments, and approach others with compassion.
