Am I a Bad Mother for Kicking My Pregnant Daughter Out?

My story is filled with twists and turns—I don’t even know where to begin! I thought my daughter, Rose, was on the right path, attending college, when she dropped a bombshell: she was pregnant.

Shocked but supportive, I accepted the news. Then came another surprise—her boyfriend, Nathan, proposed, and she said yes. Though I had my reservations, I embraced their future, letting them stay in my home while they prepared for their new life. We even decorated a nursery together, and I started looking forward to becoming a grandmother.

One afternoon, I came home early with baby essentials, only to find Rose in lingerie, startled by my presence. Before I could process it, an unfamiliar male voice called out. My heart sank. When I pushed past her to the bedroom, I found a stranger wrapped in the bedsheets Nathan’s mother had gifted them.

The betrayal hit me like a ton of bricks. Rose begged me not to tell Nathan, claiming it was a mistake, but I couldn’t ignore what I had seen. This house, this life—we built it for her future, and she shattered it.

With a heavy heart, I told her to leave. She cried, saying she had nowhere to go, but the damage was done. Now, I sit alone, questioning everything. Should I tell Nathan the truth? Was I too harsh in making her leave?

What would you have done?
