Working in an office often follows strict rules, but there are moments that become memorable for years, like client requests or harmless pranks. These moments make office life more enjoyable.
At Bright Side, we love to make each other laugh, and we’re not alone. Sometimes, people do this unintentionally. For example, I manage a small team, and once, after a canceled client appointment, I returned early to find two subordinates jousting with wheeled chairs and broomstick lances.
As an IT guy in an office with 50+ people, I bought cat food and left a note in the fridge, saying, “Feed the cat twice a day.” People spent the next 30 minutes searching for the cat that didn’t exist.
We also had a new designer who, during lunch, said he liked eating in silence. One day, my boss tried to befriend a pigeon from his 7th-floor window while holding peanuts.
As an assistant designer, I received quirky client questions like, “Which shade of brown is for men?” or “Can you find a wardrobe that looks like a crucifix?”
Our former director always wore the same sweater on casual Fridays. I found identical sweaters online and got everyone in the office to wear them. He brought me a gift the next Monday.
A colleague once pranked the office bathrooms by placing fake people in stalls, complete with shoes, clothes, and faces. When people thought there were homeless individuals in the bathroom, the CFO had to check, and we all laughed when the prank was revealed.
