“Dame Olivia Newton-John раssеd аwау peacefully at her Ranch in Southern California this morning, surrounded by family and friends,” John said on her Facebook page.
Olivia’s story about her battle with breast cancer has been a source of inspiration and hope for more than 30 years.
“The Olivia Newton-John Foundation Fund, which is dedicated to researching plant medicine and cancer, carries on her healing inspiration and groundbreaking work with plant medicine.”
“In lieu of flowers, the family asks that any donations be made in her memory to the Olivia Newton-John Foundation Fund.”
Olivia was treated for breast cancer in 1992, but in 2017 she said it had come back, according to The Washington Post’s Instagram account.
For many years, she kept her battle with cancer a secret, but she was still a strong supporter of raising awareness.
TRIBUTES
John Travolta, Olivia’s co-star in Grease and love interest, led a group of stars who paid tribute to her after she died.
John wrote on Instagram at the time, “My dear Olivia, you made all of our lives so much better.” “You made a huge difference. I really love you.
At the time, he wrote, “We will see you down the road and we will all be together again.”
“You’re mine from the first time I saw you and always!” “Your Danny, your John!” the actor said in the end.
It broke my heart, said Randal Kleiser, the director of Grease, in a statement to The Hollywood Reporter. She was unique and really nice.
“She loved everyone she met for more than forty years that we were friends.”
“Olivia was just likе you thought she would be.” I will always miss her.
